Week 44 Challenge - Shaped Card

Hello everyone, it's Fliss here again this week with a new challenge for you. I can't quite believe it's Friday again already and have no idea where the last week went!

Before I go on to details of this week's challenge I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone that took part in our Halloween challenge 41 with Nikky's fabulous free download sheet. You made some really fabulous creations with it!

Without further ado, here are our top 3 creations from that challenge:

1st Place - Michaela
2nd Place - Clairebears
3rd Place - Princess4Wiz

Congratulations everyone, please email Nikky for your blinkies - the first placed winner receives a download. Please put in the subject field of your email your placing and the challenge number - this will make Nikky's life a lot easier!

This week's challenge to you is to make a Shaped Card so no plain rectangles or squares please as I'd like to see something a little more interesting and if you need inspiration just look below as the Design Team have made some fabulous creations sure to get the creative juices flowing.

The Polkadoodlers have a few little rules which makes our life a lot easier when we come visiting your blogs:

1. Please follow the challenge!
2. Only enter your creation into a maximum of 10 challenges including Polka Doodles.
3. Please link your blog post and not your blog address with the blue frog - this saves us from searching your blog for your entry.
4. And please no back-linking to previous posts - these will be disregarded from our top three voting.
5. If you have comment moderation and word verification on your blog it really does slow us down when leaving comments - please consider turning word verification off especially now that comment moderation has a spam section.

The challenge is open until Sunday 13 November at 12noon GMT and any entries that do not follow our challenge rules will not be eligible for any prizes so please read them carefully!

Fliss: I've used the gorgeous Pretty Sweet CD for my round easel shape card. I used a circle cutter to make up the card blank and covered this with paper from the CD. I added the very cute Piper coloured with Promarkers, sitting her on the edge of a blossom shape. I added a mat cut with a circular Nestabilities die and made a flower with the same blossom die and the same beautiful red rose paper. I shaped the petals and added Doodle Dew Drops to the centre. I finished off with a sentiment from the CD and some pearls, lace and glitter together with a punched border.

Ruth: I've used digi's from the brand new cd Pretty Tuff! I've enlarged the football twice and cut it out and used it for background. The footballer has been coloured with Promarkers and added with foam pads for depth.

Shell: I've used papers from Pretty Sweet and coloured the image with Copics.

Emma I used the lovely Pretty Sweet this week for the image, papers and sentiment on my handbag shaped card. I coloured with Distress inks all available in the Polkadoodles Web Shop.

Daniele: I so love the Pretty Sweet Cd, I love all the sweet girly images this one is called Bella. the image has been coloured with Prismas, the papers are from the same CD

Audrey... For this card purse I used Double Sprinkles Of Kraft for the paper and Pretty Sweet for the sentiment. I did some stitching around the edges and used a cute little flower with a brad in the middle for the clasp.

Enfys: I found some rather strange circular thank you cards on sale here in Florida (Big Lots) - they are just white circles with the word thanks printed around the edge, but I snapped them up because I am a sucker for a bargain. For this card I made a base card out of red cardstock using the Wildcard cartridge on my Cricut, then stuck the thanks circle onto that, it's blank in the centre, so I was able to add some nestie circles and the stamped image - one of the fabulous Polkadoodles house stamps, coloured with Promarkers

Colette I love making shaped cards, and for this challenge chose to make one of my trifold shapes. I have used the Pretty Sweet CD for all the papers and the image. The little girl has been coloured in Photoshop, and I have paper pieced her clothes with more papers from the CD. The sentiment is also from the same CD. The scalloped oval frame was cut using a GoKreate die and a nestie, the scalloped border is a Marianne Creatables die and the lilac oval has been embossed with a cuttlebug daisies folder. The flowers, ribbon, beaded pin and gems are from stash.

Doreen: For my shaped card (Front Panel Stair-step card) I used the new and gorgeous Pretty Tuff CD. I love all the images and papers. I used the pre-coloured images. For the letters I used the Tim Holtz Die.

Alan: I really enjoy making shaped cards. It makes my crafty mind stretch that little bit more. Its the exploration of how a paper can work for this and then another paper that can work for that image. I used the following cd's to make this card. Sundae of Seasons - Pretty Sweet - Double Sprinkles

Claire: Pretty sweet the images are indeed and so ideal for a 3 year old that loves everything girly! I have used a shaped easel card base along with Nellie Snellen dies and lots of bling.

Lana - I love making shaped cards so I really enjoyed this fun challenge and it was so easy using the wonderful Paper Boutique CD (vol 3) which is packed with great templates. I used 'Buster' the dog and cut the template out using my Pazzle. The papers used are from 'Pretty Sweet'.

Shary: I've used the lovely Pretty Tuff CD for this shaped card and coloured in the images with Copics. The sentiment and papers are also from the same CD. The little wooden buttons are from my stash and I've coloured them to match the papers with copics.

Norine: No stamping this week. I used papers and sentiments from the Pretty Sweet collection as well as the Kraft collection. I cut the flower and leaves with the Cricut (Walk in my Garden), added some lace, hand stitched around the sentiment circle edge and inked the edges of everything.

Clare: I've used pre-coloured images from the fabulous Pretty Tuff CD for this football card. The only extra I have used is a Sakura Stardust pen to highlight the football strip and to edge the sentiment. I think I will make a few more of these cards as they will be ideal for birthdays for my nephews.

Lis-m: I have used everything here from the new "Pretty Tuff" cd... The little fella is coloured with Promarkers...gotta say I am loving all the elements on the cd, love the monkey papers ...such fun!

Anne
- I cut the shaped card with my nesties then used a digital image, coloured with copic markers and papers from the Pretty Sweet CD. The flowers were cut from the same papers using my cricut. Buttons, beads and ribbon from my stash.

Josie: This week chose a stepper card instead of the usual square or rectangle. I used the backing paper from the Magical Winter Cd Rom. The image is stamped with a Gorjuss Stamp and coloured with Pro Markers. The sentiment is stamped with the free gift from issue 74 of Papercraft Essentials magazine. The girl and fox are covered in Glossy accents.

DP: Magical Winter
